Nap Time Hacks
Quit Relying on Motivation
Quit relying on motivation to get things done around the house. If you always wait for that little voice in your head to kick in with motivation, you will never get anything done.
We are more inclined to sit around than work, especially if the workload is heavy.
Kiddos Wake Time
Take advantage of when your little ones are awake. You do not need to be entertaining them 24/7.
Use this time to get some cleaning. That way, you don’t have much to do while they are napping.
Create a Weekly Nap Time Routine
Creating a nap time routine will help tremendously.
A routine will relieve the mental strain of always having to think about what needs to be done that day.
An example of a Nap Time Routine would be:
Monday: Deep cleaning a specific area
Tuesday: Clean & Organize Bedrooms
Wednesday: Mid Week Home Reset
Thursday: Bathrooms
Friday: Declutter a particular area
High-Priority Tasks First
You can not get everything done during nap time, which is why it’s so important to take care of necessary things around your home.
Things that would be difficult if your little ones were awake.
This is different for every household.
But a few examples could be
- Getting a headstart on dinner
- Preparing snacks for when the little ones wake up
- resetting the play area
- cleaning the floors
- doing a load of laundry
- putting the dishes away

Minimize Distractions
If you want to tackle your to-do list, the first step is minimizing distractions.
That includes your phone.
Phones are one of the worst culprits that hinder your productivity. A quick check-in and 30 minutes go by or the entire nap time.
The best way to minimize distractions is by setting your phone aside and putting it on Do Not Disturb.
Set a Timer
Setting timers is one of the best ways to tackle your to-do list.
You would be surprised how much you can get done in 15-30 minutes if you’re trying to beat the clock.
It’s the best way to get motivated and clean at the same time.
Relaxing Comes After
Once your little one goes down for nap time, make it your goal not to scroll, binge-watch Netflix, or relax.
Instead, make a list of what needs to be done and what would help your future self.
dThen, after getting as much as you want done, relax.
There are Seasons
There are seasons in life when you should relax before doing anything. By relaxing, I mean either taking a shower or taking a nap. Everything else can wait.
These seasons can be bringing a little one home, sick season, traveling, or when all the babes decide to be up all night long.
