This blog post is all about how you can give your worries to God.
Becoming a Mama is one of the greatest feelings in the world, but it also brings a lot of worries.
Suddenly you start worrying about things you never thought about before.
Death becomes so real that even thinking about it happening to your little one can be debilitating. Finances, your child’s health, development, and self-doubt can start getting in the way of enjoying motherhood and becoming the mother you are called to be.
Give your worries to God, Mama. He is ready to listen to you and help you through this season of life.
If you are struggling or don’t know how to give your worries to God, in this post, I will share 6 Practical Ways You can Give Your Worries to God.
Give Your Worries to God
1. Cast All Your Anxiety on Him Through Prayer
“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” 1 Peter 5:7
“Give your burdens to Yahweh, and he will take care of you.” Psalm 55:22
Pray earnestly to Yahweh. He is all-knowing and intimately aware of every detail in your life—but He still longs for you to bring your worries to Him. Yahweh wants you to tell Him about your struggles, anxieties, and burdens in Motherhood.
He patiently waits for you to cast all your anxieties onto Him.
He LOVES you and cares for you. Just as you care and love your little one, God feels the same way about you. Just as you hope your little one will open up to you when they are troubled by something, God wants you to do the same with Him.
Prayer to Give Your Worries to God.
God, I reach out to you in this prayer, asking that you hear me as I struggle with the burden I am carrying. You promise to care for me and my little ones. You look after those who are godly and worship you. Yahweh, help me to trust in you wholeheartedly. Help me overcome the worry and fear that creep into my mind throughout the day and night. I trust you with my family, God, and I know that you hear me, God. I give you my life and the lives of my little ones; we are in your hands. Do as you please with us. Protect me, God, from spiritual warfare. Please fill me with wisdom from your Word. Worrying will not add more years to my life; it will only rob me of the life you have prepared for me. God, I love you and trust you. I pray all this in Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.
2. Let Go and Let God
Let your worries go and let God take care of it.
If you have prayed about it and made it known to God, it’s out of your hands. God will handle the rest.
When you cling to control, worry robs you of joy, gratitude, and peace. Instead, practice surrender: pray, then release.
Letting go and letting God take control is something you will constantly have to remind yourself to do, because when worry creeps in, the first thing you might try to do is control the situation.
Letting go doesn’t mean you quit praying about it and become a couch potato. Instead, you need to keep renewing your mind with God’s word. Continue to pray about it. Actively surrender to God your worries.
Once you’ve prayed and let go, it’s time to take your thoughts captive.

3. Take Your Thoughts Captive
Learning to take your thoughts captive requires a great deal of self-awareness, which is something that the enemy may prevent you from developing.
Take your thoughts captive, especially during this season where your worries are drowning you.
Satan likes to enter your thought life by amplifying negative emotions and using circumstances to make you feel worse.
The thoughts come so subtly, though. One minute you’re thinking about the day, and the next thing you know, you feel deep worry about your little ones, and next thing you know, you’re crying and terrified about the what-ifs.
Recognize the lie and refute it with God’s Word.

4. Meditate on God’s Word Day and Night
One thing that will help you tremendously when you start to give your worries to God is to meditate on God’s Word Day and Night.
Let it be the first thing you see and do when you wake up, and the last thing you read when you go to sleep.
The enemy is looking for the slightest entrance to stir up fear in your heart, but that is not a feeling from God; it is from the enemy.
Meditating on God’s Word strengthens you for spiritual warfare. It anchors you in Truth. Reading the Word will bring you peace and stability, knowing that God has and will always be in control. All he is asking from you is to obey and trust in him wholeheartedly.

5. Memorize and Speak Scripture
Memorize and Speak Scripture when you feel like your thoughts and feelings are inundating you.
When thoughts pop up that provoke fear, speak “God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7
When you feel like The Enemy is manipulating your thoughts, respond with scripture, just as Jesus did when Satan was tempting him.
This is why it is so crucial to memorize scripture, because if you don’t fill your mind with truth, satan will surely and quickly fill it with doubts, fears, and lies.
Write down prayers that help you overcome the worry you are feeling and put them in a place where it’s easy to reach for when you feel your worries start to creep up.

6. Share Your Worries With Other Mom Friends
We were not meant to fight by ourselves.
Having a community of Christian Mom friends who are there to listen and pray for you is LIFE CHANGING.
Do not isolate yourself during a difficult time; instead, let your church community know so that they can also pray for you and perhaps offer some wisdom to share with you.

“If you make the LORD (Yahweh) your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your food on a stone.” Psalm 91: 9-12 NLT
